Enjoyed an incredibly rewarding experience with The Promise of Passover, an Easter presentation of Christ’s ministry and the Passion week at the Texas Amphitheater in Glen Rose. John directed, with Margaret as Jesus’ mother, Mary, and Shafer as John the Baptist & the “Arise” angel. Also enjoyed the fall run of The Promise. The show’s 130 cast and crew members have been excited to implement John’s vision, and the audience response has been tremendous. This portrayal of the life of Christ ran for over 3 decades, and sadly, the new owner of the facility is not leasing to the organization anymore. The Texas Amphitheater, the largest permanent outdoor theatre in TX was built for The Promise & is a Greco-Roman design with fixed seating for 3,250. Sets were designed by the renowned Peter Wolf. The stage has forty-foot walls and arches that tower above a 4,000 square foot tri-level stage. A 45,000 gallon waterway, which runs the length of the structure, separates the stage from the seating area. There is a rain curtain, lighting truss with 600+ instruments, digital sound system, and more. For 35 years, audiences have had a truly extraordinary experience at The Promise and John is grateful and humbled to be a part of it's ongoing ministry. New plans are being made to continue the show in some capacity as they figure out the best way to move forward.

College bound voice/acting students have made decisions about college programs, and we are very proud of their hard work. Congratulations to former students who are graduating college, doing senior recitals, and looking forward to what’s next!
